October 27, 2022 - Iggy Shuler’s “Hospital”

Strapped by the clasp of the IV cord,

Gentle as asparagus,

I watched

The monitor animate mountains

Like ribbons,

It tore me to ribbons,

That bloomed red

As flowers,

It bloomed like flowers,

That fell far

As canyons,

It fell far as canyons,

From the top of the trees.

And isn’t it clear? This isn’t my first

Life. This isn’t my first life. In my first

Life I never died, I was a rock, and I never

Died.
